GTA 6 PC Release Date: Not Officially Announced Yet
Rockstar Games has confirmed GTA 6 launches November 19, 2026 for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. A PC release date has not been officially announced. Every major GTA release has launched on console first, with PC following later.
Rockstar’s History of PC Release Delays
| Game | Console Launch | PC Launch | Gap |
|---|---|---|---|
| GTA 5 | September 2013 | April 2015 | ~19 months |
| Red Dead Redemption 2 | October 2018 | November 2019 | ~13 months |
Based on this pattern, a GTA 6 PC release in late 2027 or early 2028 is a reasonable expectation.
Why Does Rockstar Delay PC Releases?
- Console exclusivity deals β Sony and Microsoft pay for marketing partnerships and timed exclusivity windows.
- PC optimization takes time β GTA 6 must run well across thousands of hardware configurations.
- Two separate revenue events β many players buy the console version at launch then buy the PC version later.
Should PC Players Buy a Console to Play GTA 6 at Launch?
Buy a console if: You don’t want to wait 12-18+ months, want to be part of GTA 6 Online from day one, or want the DualSense haptic experience.
Wait for PC if: You primarily game on PC and don’t own a console, or you’re willing to wait for the best graphics and mod support.
Our recommendation: if you’re serious about GTA 6 and making money in it, console at launch gives you a 12-18 month head start on the Online economy.
